Radiator Fluid Exchange Services
Radiator fluid, or coolant fluid, lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point of water within a vehicle’s engine components. If coolant levels drop, damage to the radiator, water pump, and other cooling system parts can occur, leading to expensive repairs. A periodic radiator fluid exchange based on manufacturer recommendations is a good investment.
How Does a Radiator Fluid Exchange Service Help Your Car?
A radiator fluid exchange protects your car in several ways. Proper coolant fluid levels prevent rust or corrosion from forming on metal parts of the cooling system and keep the water pump adequately lubricated. Radiator fluid protects the engine from overheating and improves engine performance.
Participating American LubeFast® locations offer the following radiator fluid exchange services
- The Radiator Fluid Exchange replaces 100% of existing coolant fluid and removes dirt and contaminants from the cooling system. We replace old radiator fluid with an antifreeze/coolant that meets or exceeds your manufacturer’s recommendations.
We capture and recycle all old radiator fluid to help keep our planet green!
Signs Your Vehicle Needs a Radiator Fluid Exchange Service
Warning: NEVER remove your vehicle’s radiator cap while the engine is hot or warm. You can be severely burned.
Signs you need new coolant fluid include:
- Temperature gauge swings between normal and hot
- Visible rust and/or scaling in or on the cooling system
- Radiator fluid leaks (radiator fluid may be dyed blue, red, green, violet, yellow, or orange)
- Steam from under the vehicle hood
- Sweet smell coming from under the hood
If you detect any of these signs or if your owner’s manual indicates it’s time for new coolant, drop by participating American LubeFast locations for a radiator fluid exchange. Be sure to ask about our other car maintenance services while you’re there!
